New promotions and publicity

We're excited to announce that Robert Michael Sutton from Tacoma, WA is now handling publicity and promotions for CShine.

New web site

Hotness finished our flip. The new site is online! Thanks to hotnessflapjack.com for working with us to deliver this great new site.

Which Way is Mine

After lots of pesto, pizza, and home brew in order to fuel some great work in the studio, the third installment is here. Officially released on March 15, 2008, Which Way Is Mine represents a departure from the old sound and an arrival into a new one. Online sales are open! We hope you enjoy it.

Site update

Our new site is being built on the fly by hotnessflapjack.com so content from the old site will be gradually moved over to the new one. Hang tight folks!

The new record,

Recordings are done. Album artwork is almost done. The record should be out in a few weeks. Wu!

It's coming...,

It really is folks. I can't wait for everyone to hear this record. All of the principle tracks have been recorded and Shannon has been working hard on the mixes. He gave us 4 tracks to listen to a few weeks ago and it sounds awesome. Really. Our new sound is fresh and truly without a care in the world which is great.

I will release a new song on this site very soon so stay tuned. When this new record is out, we're going to get back to doing live shows. I want to line up a new agent as well so hopefully we can find a good person to work with for 2008.

Some of you have asked - what will the new album look like, what's the name, how many songs, who is playing on it. Well...all those things will be answered soon.

Rock on!

New record stuff...,

Howdy folks. I thought I'd add a little blurb to let you know what's going on. We've had several sessions in the studio. We trimmed up the 12 songs which are the candidates for the record and are now working with our producer on those same songs. We should be releasing something for all of you to listen to in the coming weeks (or months...you know how that goes).

It's both tough and fun working in the studio - all of us are so busy outside of the band with other projects. When we get together, we work so hard and we get a lot done. Then, we're off to the next project. I can't wait to see my brothers and I'm always sad to see them go.

Pop Tart!

Mother's Day is this weekend. I posted a new pic in the Pictures section of the site. It's the one I'm going to give her this weekend. I can say that without fear of her finding out since she doesn't have a computer. When will my folks get a computer so they can geek out with the rest of us? One day, I'll convince them that shopping online is pretty swell.

I hope you are all doing well. I can't wait to see some of you during our next live performance!

Much love.

~ Caldwell

Texas Rock Fest and SXSW!,

We're rocking out this year in Austin at both of these festivals. YAH MON! Check our schedule page and make plans to come rock with us.

~ POP TART!

Happy New Year!,

New beginnings come 'round again! Here's wishing everyone a great start to this new year.

~ POP TART!

Happy Holidays!,

Happy wonderful times to everyone. The boys have been bustin' their chops in the studio to record all the remaining songs from the CShine catalog. The CShine Hymn Book got pulled out for a few old ones and the hard drives are now packed full of good stuff. Everyone at Pool Side Studio will be listening to these songs over the next few weeks so we can help the boys decide what will go on the new record. Pretty exciting. But read on!

After recording all these songs, the boys figured why not release something on the web site? Thy will shall be done. Please enjoy a gift from CShine to you...we give you, The Chocolate Song - Live from Pool Side Studio.

It's been another great year for the band. The boys are solid and on track to hopefully play some festivals next year. All of the marketing work that took place this fall should pay off in the spring and summer. A few road shows should be in order, as well as possibly working with some new folks to help manage the band. All next year, the boys will be in the studio. At the end of 2007, the boys will release the new record - code name PopTart. 2008 is set to be a big year for the boys!

It's a great time of year to give so please, give something to someone. It feels great!

Spirits are alive in this sound. Be safe, be merry, and make jungle noises.

~ Caldwell, Silas, Clem, Alan

More new record news!,

The boys just finished recording more of the songs this evening. Fifteen songs have been recorded this month. These will be used as listening tools to help them select which songs will go on the new record. CShine's Sonicbids web site will most likely have a new song posted there in the coming weeks. This will give folks a taste of one of the jam songs that the band performs at its live shows. Chocolate is so good!

The boys should be selecting the songs for the new album in the coming weeks. Stay tuned in to this web site for pre-release info. If you haven't already, join The Welzz to stay in the know about CShine stuff.

Caldwell recently wrote 2 new songs and will be performing them live early next year. They are called: Burger King in Baghdad and Yesterday. The first is a parody. The second is a complex song about asking for guidance during a difficult time - which is a departure for Caldwell since most of his songs are about happiness instead of melancholy.

Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. It's on to Santa's Sleigh. Can't wait for spring time!

Happy good times to you all, and to you all a good night.

"I miss grandma's banana bread..." - Caldwell Shine

~ Touch an elephant's trunk

New record in the works!,

From Caldwell:

"Howdy folks!

Yes...it's true...we're just a few months out from starting the new record. New hard drives, a cool RAID0 SATA controller for speedy persistence...

Wait, I just geeked out..

.

What I mean to say is Pool Side Studio is ready to go to work for us. YEAH!

The next record will probably have 9 songs and will most likely include some fly-by-the-camera videos shot of all of us doing our thing. I am truly excited about starting this project! I expect that we'll be posting some early cuts on our web site and at myspace as the project floats down the river. We have some cool material to release. I think the songs on the new record won't be re-recordings from previous records - but then again... I wanted to carry over some songs but nah...it's time for something new...but then again...

My dogs want to go outside and play catch so I'll check y'all later.

Caldwell"

~ In This Sound we Trust

Friends,

New pics and new shows! Be sure to check them out.

It's been a great summer over here in Austin. Hot and toasty for sure. ACL Fest is right around the corner. Caldwell sold his car and Kimberly got a Solara convertible. Sweet! The band is going to play the first annual Park Fest - right before going to downtown Austin to play at Ringside. This is going to be a great festival. Check it out.

The band has started working with a new drummer which is exciting because the music always goes in a new direction. Alan Vela will be sitting in with the band on some upcoming shows. Be sure to come check out this new dynamic.

Caldwell has some new songs in the works and the band plans to go into the studio late this year and work on a full length album due out late Fall 2007. Stay tuned to the net for pre-release material...

Caldwell was accepted for inclusion on mvyradio.com's Local MusiCafe! Be sure to give them a visit on your next click break. He will also be included in the next Peacedriven compilation CD.

Caldwell launched a new web site for Momo's. Check it out here!

One more thing...call your folks and tell them you love them.

"Please hold my hand when I walk on your lands..." - Caldwell Shine

~ Live and feel life.

Remember your R&R,

From Caldwell:

"This weekend, I spent time outside doing nothing. It was the first break I had given myself in a while. I was shocked - I had forgotten how to relax! Indeed, I had to practice telling my mind to stop thinking...slow down...and do nothing. I took a lot of effort. I found myself thinking about doing things, fixing this, painting that... It's like I wanted to be doing something - which was the source of the problem. The problem - I was tired and had too many things on my plate. So, I said forget all this - I'm going to relax. I sat in the sun all day, read books, listened to music and that was it. It felt great! I had forgotten how important it was to do nothing from time to time. There's an old song of mine called Nothing. I started playing it again. It felt great. Every few weeks, I'm going to do nothing more often - just like I used to."

Here's what going on...besides nothing of course.

  • - Caldwell was named a finalist (only 18) in the Peacedriven Music Contest.
  • - More plans set in motion to go into the studio this fall to record the next album.
  • - Acoustic Fuel interviews of Caldwell are published!
  • - We have a new band van thanks to Mac Haik Ford!
  • - New live shows are in the works for more cities in Texas.
  • - The sun feels GREAT!

"Everyone's going to the ground

But we don't care 'cause we're here right now..."

- Caldwell Shine

~ Peace and love to you all. Thanks for tuning in. Good energy is in this sound.

The night light stays on longer,

That's right. More light at night. More light to do things at days end. Feeling exhausted? Not when you're In This Sound. That's where love is found.

Make sure to check out the new video from CShine. Today is available for free viewing (less the price of your internet connection of course) in the Music section of this site. Tell us what you think!

We also have several new shows coming up - during which time we'll be releasing some new material. Make it a point to check out a show!

What's going on:

- CShine is pleased to announce a relationship with a new booking agent. This should help us work our music into more great places in the central Texas area. Stay tuned for more info.

Lots of good stuff going on! One other good one. The band is going back into the studio later this fall to begin recording a new album. How cool is that. Look for pre-release tracks on this site at a later date. The new album is tentatively scheduled for release in the fall of 2007.

~ Live happy and huggingly. It all comes down to a smile.

Lookie here,

Rowdy howdies all. It's SXSW time in Austin and we're ready to rock! We have two shows during the music festival. One on Fri March 17th - the other on Sat March 18th.

Friday's show is at Love. on the Lawn. Don't even think about missing this. Five bands starting at 4pm, a chair that you bring of your own choosing, all the food and drink that you want to pack - and shopping, massages, and facials within 100 feet! Yikes - that sounds like a party. Voted one of Austin's best venues and shops in 2004 and 2005. Don't miss this event at Love. Please click the Schedule link over yonder to the left and check out who's playing!

>

The Sat show is with the Heart of Texas Triple Bypass Festival. Please click the Schedule link over yonder to the left and check it out! We'd love to see you at one (or BOTH) of the shows.

What else? Well, the video of course. Ten Tables is about done with it. We're in the final review stages. Want to see it? Well, it's out on the Net. Where? We won't say just yet but with some sleuthing, you just might find it. It should be posted to the CShine site soon.

Greetings to our new fans in Houston - thanks for joining our world! We have 2 shows coming up in Houston at Last Concert Cafe. Can't wait to see some of you again, and to meet some of you for the first time.

It's going to be a great year for us. We're planning to start recording the new full length album later this year. GREEN has served us well, yet our sound has continued to evolve and thus it's time to record it for the time capsule. Stay tuned for more info.

~ It's disc golf time!

It's another new year,

Greetings all! I just got back from visiting my family in Panama'. It was a wonderful time. Speaking spanish for a week, eating simple and good food, and looking at lovely landscapes. It was a time of reflection. I met so many people that looked healthy and strong. Each day, I would walk to the store or take a trip somewhere. I read, played and listened to music, and hung out with my family. I feel re-vitalized and happy. I will be posting pics of the trip later on. Onward!

Do you know about the 2006 SXSW and Heart of Texas Quadruple Bypass music festivals? These great festivals in Austin are quickly approaching. Make sure you check out the links to these events. Bet you might want to check them out.

We had some more cool things happen since the last mailer. Check it out.

Spring 2006 dates are in the process of being booked. For those of you nice folks in Houston, Last Concert asked us to come back this year so we will see you soon!

Welcome to her fall,

The fall equinox is behind us and we're now migrating towards winter. These days, Austin is pretty nice. We've seen lots of blue skies through our eyes, and felt more breezy cool on our skin.

We have more stuff going on as a result of the marketing army. Check it out!

  • - Soon to be featured on Austin's WB upcoming compilation CD.
  • - Featured in the MWS Media compilation CD, based out of Hesperia, California.
  • - A music video is due out later this fall. Footage will feature the band from several recent live shows.
  • - On 09.10.2005, Caldwell was interviewed on KLBJ and Today was played for the Katrina relief effort.
  • - We are receiving air play on Celtica Radio in the UK.
  • - We will have an article about us in the North East InTune Magazine. I wonder what they might say about this band's poppy sound!
  • - An Asian licensing deal is being worked on.
  • - The Music Connection Magazine will do an article on us.

How exciting! Along with more upcoming live shows, we're continuing to move forward and have fun at the same time. If you haven't checked out the Pictures area in a while, please do so. New pics were posted today.

Please come say hello to us on myspace. To all those folks on myspace who have taken the time to check us out

THANK YOU!

- Wishing everyone lots of color, and something to paint with.

Look what happened...,

Hello lovely folks.

We're on our way to breaking out of Austin. We've started marketing in other cities and have some out of town show possibilities coming up. That's pretty exciting considering we've been playing around Austin since 2002. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and support. Could a CShine Street Team be forming around the corner? Hmmm... This month, we're performing at Cementville in San Antonio (please see the Schedule for more info).

Well, some of you might have already taken a peek at the Press section of the site and discovered this...but for those that don't know - Caldwell Shine was officially named one of the semi-finalists for the 2005 UK Songwriting Contest! Today was the song that was submitted. That's a big cake to eat right there. Alright!

Our myspace.com community continues to grow. Welcome to all those who have recently added us to their friend's list. That's quite kind of you. If you haven't checked out myspace.com yet, it's a great tool for all kinds of stuff like networking, dating, and sharing information. Check it out and drop us a line. Our link is right over yonder on this page...

So, would you like to help us promote CShine? Well, one thing you can do is to request our music on the Satellite XM Unsigned Radio Channel (#52). Just shoot them an email and request music from Caldwell Shine's GREEN album. Here's the eaddress which you can click right now: unsigned@xmradio.com

Don't forget to please say hello to us in our Forums. It takes a minute to leave us a note - which in turn makes us happy for a real long time.

- much oil-free love to you

More new stuff!,

Greetings and sweetness to everyone!

It's been a while since I last wrote. All kinds of fun things are going on and the sun is OUT in this South Austin spot here in Texas. What's been going on? Marketing!!! Non stop - all the time. Thank goodness for the Internet. I think about what this must have been like without electronic tools back when... Musicians today have the best tools available to us! Kudos to the DARPA net and creative minds who used it to make the Net what it is today (except for the junky stuff of course...)

Read on!

We've submitted our stuff to a fall music festival in Colorado. How exciting it is to think about playing outside Texas! Stay tuned for more info on this.

We've submitted to several companies that are making compilation CDs for distribution throughout the US. Imagine going to Banana Republic next time and hearing Today sailing the through the store. Ahhhh... I need some pants.

I submitted one of my songs (Today) to a UK songwriting Contest. I usually don't like to do this because it's not about competition for me but the exposure possibilities are too grand to pass up. Hmmm...

We were featured on a pod cast in the UK! Click over to Kingsley's Corner and check him out. I emailed a bit with him and of course listened to his casts. His voice is so engaging yet easy to listen to. Please check him out.

Our myspace site is doing really well! I tell you, it's a lot of work going out there and meeting people online who have similar interests as me (am I saying something here?) but slowly and surely, more people are finding out about this little South Austin groovy band. If you're looking to meet people online, check out myspace. The search tool is awesome! You can search by interest and region and that is the best marketing tool ever in my humble opinion.

Checked out our Forums lately? There's some cool chat threads there and I've asked a super secret someone to consider keeping a blog there. More on that later... Drop us a line in our Forums. Why? 'cause it makes us look cool!

Nghosi Books will be featuring our music on their online radio show. Click on over to their site and check them out! They have a little Flash demo on their main page so make sure your local security policy doesn't trip you up.

American Idol. Say what? Yep. We've submitted our music to them for an online promotion they are offering. Who knows, I might get to meet Kelly Clarkson! She's got one of the most beautiful and sexiest voices in pop music today so me thinks...

Violent Shrimp production company has been helping Caldwell Shine with live sound for the last several months. I'm pleased to announce that they will be running our sound in San Antonio at Cementville. If you are looking for a professional production company with straight up honest talk, I highly recommend them. Also, check out the cool band Stoic Falls at the Shrimp website. Very cool music!

Make sure to check out our Schedule page. We're performing at some new venues soon, including our first official out of town show in San Antonio, Texas. And here's a big request to all of you great people - please mark the following on your calendars:

  • Saturday, August 20th, 2005, 9:00pm to 1:00am at Ringside at Sullivan's in Austin.
  • FREE SHOW (with opening act)

After a long time, this gig will finally happen and we are pleased to have earned it. We need your support - like you so graciously gave us at Momo's. This is a FREE show and will feature an opening act. And for those of you who'd like to know, Sullivan's is SWANKY! This is going to be a great night to dress up (only if you want - just make sure to put on deodorant or something...) and come over to the lounge at Sullivan's to enjoy a night of grooves and positive energy. Start making your plans now because the Blondie Princess will indeed be there!

And last but not least, I'm proud to say I'm working with a new band now. Geoff Zealand and I are playing with 2 new folks who are just great. Silas Parker is playing bass and Clem Trout is handling lead guitar! Please welcome both of these wonderful musicians to the project and look for them at our upcoming shows. Some of the shows will be duets with Zealand and myself, and some will feature the full band so make sure you check out the details!

~ just slow down

It still feels a little springy,

The group has some new announcements. The band is being featured on 2 websites.

KNVA, Austin's WB, showcases Austin bands and Caldwell Shine was recently added to the site. Click here to see more!

A software manufacturer, Norm Soft, is featuring the band in their artist section. Norm Soft sells a great MP3 player for Palm Devices called Pocket Tunes. When Caldwell checked it out, he noticed their music section. The company liked the band's music and ended up adding them to the site! Click here to view more.

A fan recently shot some video of the band during their Momo's performance on Sat April 30th, 2005. You can view the video of the song, Funny Thing, by clicking here and then scrolling to the Video section. The band rocked that night, opening for Rachel Loy and Patrice Pike.

Come see the band at one of their El Arroyo shows or on a Sat morning at the Downtown Austin Farmer's Market. More performance dates are coming so keep checking back.

...and make sure to go swimming too!

- find your pocket...

Another new beginning,

Caldwell Shine is pleased to announce the addition of a new musician to the group.

Gabriel Jeantet has accepted the position of lead guitar, and the group is ecstatic. Please click on over to the Biography page to read more about Gabriel. Welcome aboard! The group has been busy rehearsing with Gabriel.

The group has been playing regularly at the Red Eyed Fly. Some new venues have picked up the boy's act. Check out the Schedule page to see where they'll be playing next, and mark your calendars - we'd love to see you!

If you haven't heard clips from the new album, GREEN, check it out over to the right. It's only $5 from CDBABY (plus s&h).

Thanks for your support! Drop us a line in our Forums.

- *yawn* time to wake up...

Caldwell Shine featured on media services,

Welcome back everyone! As the icicles are melting, the Earth is waking back up - along with its little family of creatures too. For most of us here in central Texas, the winter so far has been mild. Several of us remember sleet and really bad roads over the last five years. Not this year (at least in Austin). It's amazing how this world keeps changing - politically, sociologically, and environmentally. This planet is a big, big place.

Well, several new things have occurred since we wrote you last. Caldwell Shine was featured on the radio (KUT, 90.5 in Austin, Texas) and on a Podcast with MWS Media in Southern California. Just click the Press Info link over to the left to hear both broadcasts now!

The band has also started working with a lead guitarist from Austin, and will be featuring the artist at some of their next live shows. This is big change for the band, and they welcome it!

Stay tuned for more info on this.

The band has been playing The Vibe in Downtown Austin for a while, and has started playing The Red Eyed Fly on a regular basis too. They're enjoying the live exposure, and hope to see more of you out soon.

If you haven't already, please click our Forums link over to the left and leave the band a note. We like hearing from all of you via email, but the Forums look cooler...

Thanks to everyone for your continued support!

- love her...

Happy New Year!,

Welcome to 2005! As Caldwell Shine begins another year, they look back on the accomplishments of the band. In 2004, Geoff Zealand joined the group, a new album came out, a live video was shot for promotional purposes, and garageband.com featured the band. 2005 promises to be a good year as more live performances are being scheduled. The main goal for 2005 is to promote, and start playing more regularly at certain venues.

We hope everyone was able to enjoy the holidays, and do something that made you feel good inside. We're looking forward to a great year. Cheers and love!

- turn through a meander then walk a straight line

- love her...

The masters are done,

The new CD is right around the corner everyone!

The band cannot wait to release this for their fans. It's been such a learning experience for them.

The 5 song disc is great!

Sadly, Ringside at Sullivan's had to postpone the performance scheduled for Saturday, September 18th. Apparently, this is a busy season for them with banquets; as a result, several bands are getting bumped. CShine has been assured they will be back on the roster soon so we will keep you posted.

What's next? Marketing and more performances. CShine will be promoting themselves hard in Central Texas. Look for performance dates at several new venues in the near future.

The band plans to focus on giving lots of live shows for the next year or so - at which time, it will most likely be time for them to head back into the studio to record a full length CD.

How about a tour?!

CShine is also looking for a lead guitarist. Check out the ad in the Austin Chronicle. Seems like keyboardists just aren't easy to find in Austin. So, why not look for a Larry Carlton slinger?

The band has also added harmony vocals to their shows thanks to the lovely vocal chops of drummer Geoff Zealand! They will have a lot of chart space to fill, which all of you will soon see after hearing the richness of the upcoming CD.

Additionally, the band will soon be adding a new sampling machine to its live shows to help add more depth to the music. It's job will be to add some background sounds recorded by the band in the studio.

Like they say, three people have to make a lot of music for this band!

Thanks for tuning in.

- it might be gone, but we'll always find it again...

New EP on track for September release,

Yes, that's right! The new CShine 5 song EP is still set to be released in September.

The band has been in the studio since the end of June. One song, These Wired Times, is almost complete with regards to recording of all tracks, editing, and production. As a special treat to CShine fans, you can listen to the song right here on the website. Just click the Music link over to the left.

All of the basic tracks for the remaining 4 songs have been recorded. Harmony vocals and many of the lead and percussion tracks have been recorded as well. Another of the five songs has entered production and it should be completed next week. That means only three more to go!

As many of you know, the band has a big show coming up in September.

On Saturday, September 18th, CShine will be performing at Ringside at Sullivan's in Austin, Texas. The show will be from 9pm to 1am. The band is being given an audition by the venue.

We'd like to ask for all of you to make it out to this event. If Ringside likes the CShine vibe, and the band has a good turnout of fans, they will probably obtain a residency at the venue which would be fantastic!

Please mark your calendars for this date.

...and make sure to give the song from the new EP a listen...right here on the site!

...and, tell us what you think of the new song by posting something to our Forums.

In the studio,

The band is in the studio recording a second demo!

These Wired Times was the first song that tracks were recorded for.

The second demo will most likely consist of five songs - some from the previous demo and some new gems.

So, how and when can you listen to it? Well, stay tuned of course to the web site. The plan for the second demo will be to sell it to the public and to promote the band - unlike the first demo which was only for promotional use. Of course, CShine web surfers know that the first demo is available for a listen right here.

The band is excited about recording the second demo. The first one carried them for a long time but now it's time for something new. The second demo will showcase the band's growth over the last seven months during which time TJ and Caldwell performed as a duet. Also, the band has made several technical leaps in the studio; the second demo will represent these leaps with exceptional recording quality and the application of sound studio methods.

Once the second demo is complete, it's on to acquiring some long term residencies around Austin and then beginning recording of the first album.

One final note on the second demo. There will be some new instruments on the recordings and the band can't wait to share them with you!

Stay tuned to the CShine web site for some pre-release tracks in the coming weeks.

- Swize and make the life craters...

Finally!,

On the eve of the turn of a new month, a lovely thing happened.

Caldwell received a phone call from a wonderful spirit. The person was warm and kind sounding. The person offered their musicianship to the band...

...and again, the puzzle was put together for something new, different, exciting, and special.

Caldwell Shine is elated, and honored to announce the addition of a new member to the band.

Geoff Zealand is now holding station on the drums - sweet, elegant and tasteful.

Geoff recently moved to the Austin area from Tulsa, Oklahoma, because he wanted to be a part of Austin's world famous and dynamic music scene. When one of his new neighbors found out he was a musician, he gave him an Austin Chronicle and soon saw an ad that said, "Caldwell Shine is looking for a drummer that sounds like Steve Gadd meets Carter Beauford."

Geoff couldn't believe it because these drummers had both been two of his biggest influences. He was really surprised when Caldwell said he had been running that same ad for over 8 months. Geoff had been trying to do something on a creative level in Tulsa for over 15 years.

With early influences from everything from pop rock (The Beatles), hippy rock (Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young), and hard rock (Led Zeppelin) to Motown including The Jackson 5, The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Sly & The Family Stone, Sam Cooke, Smoky Robinson, Al Greene, and hundreds of others - Geoff eventually started listening to jazz fusion, reggae, Latin, funk, be-bop, and anything else at a very early age. After being on the road for many years without a break, Geoff left for Central State University to pursue music more seriously than ever before and acquired a music degree.

Thanks to Geoff, the band now has a solid rhythm section. Stay tuned because a new demo is just around the corner!

Welcome, Geoff!

What's the buzz?,

Are you feeling it? We hope so because we are, and we can't get enough. Look at our lovely planet waking up from its winter nap! Doesn't it feel great! The bees are singing in our yard - they sure seem to like it too!

Well, the boys have been busy. Caldwell and Tim have been recording some of the songs in their studio over the last several weeks. They are going to release a few songs on the web site soon. These will be duets with guitar, bass and vocals. Stay tuned!

They are still looking for a drummer. Some interesting folks were interviewed since the last posting. Where is Steve Gadd meets Carter Beauford? =+)

A new venue has picked up Caldwell Shine. Check out the schedule. Jakarta Jack's is a very nice, eclectic Cafe' on 6th Street and the boys are looking forward to their upcoming show.

A NEW BEGINNING,

Hi everyone. Well, as we all know, changes are a part of all our lives. Shannon and the group decided to part ways a while back. His time with the group was well spent as his opinions helped grow the concept of Caldwell Shine. His drum style was adventurous and creative. Tim and Caldwell wish him well as he moves on to other projects.

We're looking for a new drummer who is interested in a long term commitment with what we have been told is a unique sound and musical experience. An ad was placed in the Austin Chronicle looking for the right spirit.

Tim and Caldwell continue to perform, offering acoustic performances of many Caldwell Shine songs. We appreciate the support we've received from everyone. We've interviewed several musicians and we feel confident that the right spirit will float upon us. We'd love to hear from all of you so make sure to post a hello to the group using the Forums link to the left. Thanks!

HAPPY NEW YEAR,

Thanks to everyone for your continued support. We're looking forward to all kinds of new adventures and challenges this year. We hope to see you at one of our shows. Come say hi! Be safe and positive.

THE NEW FORUMS,

Click the Forums link to the left! We're happy to provide an online community for everyone where we can all talk about whatever. Start a discussion - see where it goes.

LINKS PAGE ADDED,

We'd like to share with you some of the places we like to visit on the net. This page will grow over time.

ON THE RADIO,

Caldwell Shine received air play on 95.9 in Austin, TX at 11pm. The song that sailed the airwaves was

Passing By. DJ Shanny-Shan was in the house.

THE PATIENT SEARCH BEGINS,

The group agreed to begin awaiting the arrival of a new spirit. An ad was placed in the Austin Chronicle looking for a talented keyboard musician.

STILL GOING AT IT,

The boys are continuing to make headway and spreading their music to more people each month. New bookings have been acquired and the group is about to enter the studio to begin work (finally - and we mean it this time) on a full length album. Also, the group is going to start offering merchandise on the web site in the near future so keep your measurements handy.

Keep sending us your feedback! It's because of you, the listeners, that we strive to create something that helps makes you feel good in this kaleidoscope of a world we all share together. Keep checking back with us and thanks for your support.

NEW SONGS,

The group's been busy rehearsing. Three new songs will soon be heard in the live performances, with several more in the works. Ten covers will soon be added to the set list. Catch Caldwell Shine at the next live performance to hear these captures of life.

DEMO CD,

Last year when Caldwell was performing solo, a full length CD was to be offered in the spring of 2003. That project was delayed so that the quest for a new band could begin. With that goal achieved, a demo CD is complete! You can listen to the tracks right here on this site. The demo CD is not currently for sale; its goal is for promotional purposes. As we continue to record new songs, we certainly have a goal of releasing a full length studio CD. Stay tuned to the Welzz and thanks for your support!

NEW BAND,

After a long and arduous search, 2 wonderful spirits decided to join the ranks of Caldwell Shine. Shannon Simmons and Tim Winter joined the band earlier this year.

Tim and wife Veronica have been in Austin for about 1 year. Tim comes from a jazz background and brings with him many years of experience on bass, as well as guitar and viola. Tim is also very experienced with sound engineering and we are very lucky to have his guidance in our studio. Tim has been performing professionally for years and brings a critical ear to the group which continues to help improve our projects. Tim's last album was a Christmas project with the group Heads On Fire entitled Love This Child.

Shannon and significant other Jessica recently moved to Austin from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Shannon used to live in Austin a few years ago and is very happy to be back. Shannon has lived and traveled abroad and has spent years developing his own style on the drums. Shannon has been performing professionally for years having last performed with the Nite Kites in Louisiana. Shannon and Jessica are also professional artists and create some lovely paintings.

The group is looking forward to sharing their music with you!
